1. Education Qualification
Candidates who have done a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from a government-recognized university are eligible to apply.

2. Age Limit
The minimum age limit to apply for MP judiciary examination Recruitment is 21 Years while the maximum age limit is 35 years.

There are three phases of the exam:

Mains

Viva-Voce/Interview

Preliminary Examination
The exam consists of MCQs. Its aim is to select potential candidates for the next level of the exam (mains). The candidate's marks scored in this section will not be taken into account for the final list.

Minimum required marks for the preliminary exam

  • For General Category - 60%
  • SC/ST/OBC - 55%
Mains Examination
This exam is subjective in nature consisting of 3 to 4 papers. Total marks scored in mains will be used to calculate marks in the final merit list.
Viva-Voce/Interview Round
It is the final phase of the selection process held after qualifying for the main exam. Candidates have to surpass this round with 50 percent marks to qualify. Under this round, the candidate will be examined on the basis of general intelligence, intellectual level, and personality development, etc.

MP Judiciary Prelims (Online)

The examination is mainly held in the objective format where you need to answer 150 questions. The candidates need to give the test in two parts. It is actually a selection test that will further determine whether or not you will be to sit for the mains.
However, once you are qualified for the mains, the scores of prelims will no longer have any influence on your recruitment.

MP Judiciary Mains Examination

Only the applicants who will successfully qualify for the exam, securing the cut-off percentage can appear in the main exams.
The main examination comprises four papers, which are essay-based and each paper carries 100 marks.

Paper 1 - Civil Law & Procedure (Total 100 marks)

  • Specific Reliefs Act, 1963 (I, II, and VI to VIII)

Paper 2 - Court Practice, Writing Skill, Current Legal and Translation (Total 100 marks)

  • Writing on Social Issue- 20 marks
  • Writing on Legal Issue- 20 marks
  • Precis Writing- 20 marks
  • Translation (Hindi to English)- 20 marks
  • Translation (English to Hindi)- 20 marks

Paper 3 - Criminal Law and Procedure (Total 100 marks)

MP Judiciary Viva Voce

This stage of the exam carries a maximum mark of 50. The conducting body will bring out the final rankings of the candidates based on the marks of the main examination and the vice voce.
Note: No matter how much the candidates score in the main examination unless he/she clears the personality test round, securing the minimum cut off marks, he/she will not be selected for the recruitment.

Chhattisgarh Judiciary Syllabus ( Prelims)
The duration of the Chhattisgarh Judiciary Online Preliminary Examination is two hours, and it will consist of 100 MCQs of one mark each  that will be drawn from the following Central and State level laws:

Chhattisgarh Judiciary Syllabus (Mains)

The Main Examination will be a descriptive written exam on with the following components:

  • Framing of issues and writing of Judgment in Civil Cases (Maximum Marks – 40)
  • Framing of charges and writing of Judgment in Criminal Cases (Maximum Marks – 40)
  • Translation:-(i) English to Hindi (Maximum 10 marks) (ii) Hindi to English(Maximum 10 marks)

Chhattisgarh Judiciary Syllabus (Interview)
CG Civil Judge Interview is of 15 Marks. After qualifying mains exam, a candidate is shortlisted for a personal interview for the Chhattisgarh Judiciary Exam based on their scores from the Main Exam.

The final selection will be made on the basis of merit, with both the written (Main) Examination marks and the Interview  marks.
