- passed XII (10+2) examination from any recognized Board
- Have 45-50% aggregate marks (General category)
- Have 40-45% aggregate marks (SC/ST/reserved categories)

On declaration of the SLAT result, SLS will publish the list of shortlisted candidates who are eligible for the PI-WAT process. This process will be conducted by the respective law schools.
PI-WAT (Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test):
PI (Personal Interaction) – 30 Marks
Personal interaction with shortlisted candidates will be conducted by a panel of experts from the Industry / Academic.
WAT (Writing Ability Test) – 20 Marks
Syllabus :-
Number Tests, Series Tests, Coding and Decoding, Odd One Out, Statement Arguments, Verbal Reasoning, Analogy, Statement Assumptions, Ranking, Questions n Relations, and Syllogisms.
This section will test the candidate's interest in the study of law, research aptitude, and problem-solving ability. Questions may include legal propositions (described in the paper), and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied.
Questions on Permutation and Combination, Blood Relations, Mixtures, Ratio and Proportion, Series, Number System, Time and Work, Mensuration, Clocks, and Calendar, Profit-Loss and Discount, Coding-Decoding, Number Series, Probability, etc.
The unseen passages will be tailed by questions related to the passage.
The English section is meant to test the language skill of the candidates, hence, passage-based..
This section will assess your knowledge of recent happenings and awareness of the world, specifically the last year.
